In a total of 537 cases the diagnosis of congenital heart disease and the types of cardiac anomalies
were confirmed by cardiac catheterization and cineangiography during the period of 56 months from

Persistent pulmoanry hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) is a syndrome consisting of severe
hypoxemia and pulmoanry hypertension that appears within hours of birth.
